Submission of "We are CEMfan"
for EU-wide competition
With a promising project, the 10 climate regions and model (CEM ) of the Waldviertel on EU competition " Managenergy Award 2014" participate . The submission was carried out by the Energy Agency of the Regions. The winners will be announced in the summer in Brussels.
"We are CEMfan" is a model for successful implementation of regional energy projects. The vision is that everyone in the Waldviertel CEM a company is founded, involved are communities, citizens , institutions , enterprises and regional banking institutions. Regional projects in the field of energy conservation and renewable energy can thus be planned and implemented. The advantage: The value remains at 100% in the region.
CEMfans are a new generation of shareholders who have not only an economic, but also ecological and social interest in sustainable projects. CEMfans invest into manageable models and take over with their financing and responsibility for the next generation.
In the Waldviertel are 10 climate and energy model regions. 79 municipalities and approximately 160,000 inhabitants and residents are regularly inter alia, of the model region managers information on the initiatives or funding opportunities in the fields of energy saving, energy efficiency or renewable energy. The work focuses on the improvement of awareness , knowledge and interest; improving communication, strengthening innovation and economic power as well as the strengthening of the capital base. The stated goal is to achieve regional energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality within 20 years. On the supply side should be 100 % green energy used (www.klimaundenergiemodellregionen.at ).
"We are CEMfan " - jointly implement regional projects
The goal of economic activity is to achieve maximum operational value . The goal of "We are CEMfan" is to make these gains in the CEM ( climate and energy model regions ) to generate and investing again. Key point is the successful implementation of regional energy projects with citizen participation . "We are CEMfan" met with great interest . The initiative has already started with the construction of the first KEM operations.
The aim in each CEM is a firm participation for communities , citizens , institutions, enterprises, mainly to allow but also with the regional banks. Because CEMfans are a new generation of shareholders who have not only an economic , but also ecological and social interest in sustainable projects. A good example of this are the so-called "flagship projects" that are financially supported by the Climate and Energy Fund, accompanied by the Energy Agency of the Regions and implemented in the CEM . The Ecomobil project allows , for example , that several users share at very moderate prices an electric car . Since April 2014, the Ecomobil Thayaland is now in future space Thayaland go. The prospective list gets longer every day .
"E devices in sight " shows how you can save electricity in homes and businesses . With energy monitoring of consumption is recorded , monitored and controlled . The result: reduction of energy costs and consumption in homes and businesses in a very short time .
Sustainability needs in any case , new models and process changes , such as new construction projects or existing buildings. With the project "EcoSanierung" (From the 100th to the 1000th building) an economic and high-quality implementation of the renovation of buildings is possible. Emissions are reduced , thereby reducing operating costs. Just as in "We are CEMfan " remains through cooperation of regional companies creating value in the region.
